For the main banker in Europe, the answer is YES !!!! The Banking system has forgotten his main mission ... : HELPING ECONOMIC EXCHANGES !! 

The word BANK came from the old italian word BANCA which means the BENCH !!!

The first "bankers",  in the Dark Ages, were on a bench to change silver coins minted different cities for coins minted in their own city.....
