We have developed the idea than money is, in fact, a social relation ... So could we think than different shapes for money mean different kinds of social relations ??
I think WE CAN.
A) Physical Gold or Silver has been money defined by the TANGIBLE shape of the asset. It was the money for Real resources exchanged.
B) Paper money and debt were money for PROJECTS.... A loan means economically a project. Debt creates a form of "slavery" and slavery means on the other side "Power " ...
C) Alternative currencies like Iron (at Sparta), shells or stones are really GUARANTEES... It means more solidarity in the social relation and the exchanges.
